Pentart Decoupage Varnish & Glue: Matte vs. Silky Shine

You can download the Matte & Silky Shine Decoupage Varnish and Glue Playbook page HERE

Product Description:

These are both water-based adhesives that serve as both a glue and a varnish. The matte dries to a matte, flat finish. It's perfect for decoupage projects where a non-shiny finish is wanted. The silky shine dries to a semi-gloss, silky finish.

How To Use:

  1. Apply a thin layer to your surface using a soft brush.

  2. Place your decoupage paper (such as napkins, rice paper, or tissue paper) onto the adhesive layer.

  3. Smooth out any wrinkles gently, I like to use saran wrap.

  4. Once dry, apply another layer over the top to seal and protect your design.

Pro Tips:

For a flawless matte finish, make sure each layer is fully dry before applying the next. This prevents cloudiness and maintains the clarity of your design. To enhance the silky sheen, lightly sand with a fine-grit (400 or higher) sandpaper between coats once each layer is thoroughly dry. This will give your project a professional, polished look.
